Building Data Extractio | Indie Hacker

About

Turning 'someday' into 'day one.' In 2026, I finally took the leap from dreaming about apps to shipping them. 🚀 As a data engineer, I spend my days building pipelines and cleaning data. Data Extractio is my side project—proof that even with a full-time job, you can still ship something real. If I can help people skip the PDF copy-paste hell I deal with daily, it's worth every late night. Your feedback is my fuel—let's build something great together! 🤝

Why is it important to stay active on Product Hunt even during the weekend?

A lot of people try to avoid launching their product on weekends because the traffic isn t as high as it is on weekdays. (And yes, that s true. But I still believe that launching on weekends comes with a lot of advantages.)

For example, the benefits are:

  • Since there s less launch saturation and lower competition, with the right strategy, you have a better chance of ranking in top positions.

  • You can discover a lot of great lifestyle products and products in the fun category.

  • There s also a higher chance of getting more personal interactions and catching up on old notifications during the week, things move fast, and I often use weekends to catch up on conversations I didn t have time for.

  • One minor thing: You will not lose your PH streak.

Will we work for AI or will AI work for us?

  1. Y Combinator startup will pay humans to help AI agents when they get stuck. (This is what I read today.)

  2. At the same time, I see how Indian employees in production have cameras on their heads, and the AI learns from their movements (practically filming their firing process).

  3. In addition, there was already a site where AI agents hired human actions for stablecoins.

  • First, AI worked for us.

  • Now we are starting to work for AI.

  • And eventually, will AI work (without us)?

I don t want to portray a Terminator scenario where people will have to unite against AI, but what future awaits us in terms of cooperation/non-cooperation with AI?

Which business idea do you think was so ridiculous that it feels absurd how much money it made?

I don t mean this in a disrespectful way or anything like that, but throughout my life, I ve come across (and I m sure you have too) several products whose actual usefulness wasn t exactly impressive, but their creators still made a huge amount of money.

For me, for example, it was:

  • Fidget spinners (2017). At the peak, the global market was estimated at hundreds of millions to over $1 billion.

  • Metaverse land (2021) valuation could be for tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars each, with the overall market reaching hundreds of millions during the peak hype cycle. I bought one too. :D (actually was scammed).

  • Pet Rock (1975) the creator became a millionaire within a few months.
