A more personal topic: Having (or not having) a family while building a business?

I ve been fairly active on Twitter and have come across several founders and creators who hold very different views when it comes to having a family.

The opinions vary, and I really appreciate that people are open about discussing it.

Does anyone else feel like they fall into the $10 subscription trap...

It s just ten bucks turns into wait why am I spending $287/month on tools I don t use? O_o

What s one $10/month thing you ll never let go of? Seriously, I mean changes the game and is inexpensive. I have a long list of $10 subs I know I need to cancel but don't want to drop names. We're all out here trying to make it work.

which industry do you think is the riskiest to start a business, and which is flourishing?

With AI, it seems to be everything possible:

Everybody is a builder, maker, marketer, founder, (vibe)coder/developer.

What’s one thing you wish someone had told you before validating your first idea?

Everyone says Validate before you build , but no one tells you what that actually means until you re deep in it.

Maybe you launched too soon, built too much before talking to anyone, or trusted feedback that sounded nice but meant nothing.

How do you handle cucumber season in your business? What do you usually focus on during this time?

Summer has begun, and that means most people are going on vacation, the work pace slows down, and many businesses experience a dry spell.

No one feels it more than marketers.

🧙‍♂️ Steal This Idea: Social Media for Fantasy Worlds

The Problem
Fandom lovers crave immersion, but most fan experiences are stuck in passive mode: watching shows, reading books, or scrolling Reddit threads.

Meanwhile, social media feels like the opposite of magic: doomscrolling, recycled takes, no real spark.
The Idea
FictionFeed: a social network built inside fictional universes.

Scroll through a feed of AI-generated updates from your favorite characters: Elrond, Tyrion, Hermione - all speaking in their native tone and lore.

It s like Instagram Fan Fiction Immersive Roleplay.

Solo founders: how do you stay focused?

I'm currently a team of 1, and some days it can be hard (and lonely) to just keep grinding. Curious to hear from other solo builders here how you stay motivated and consistent over the long run?

Things helping me a lot right now:

  • Private community to share progress

  • Lots of small releases

  • Reaching out to current users to get more feedback and direct work

  • Reminding myself that it sometimes just takes time
