Financially it can obviously make sense to invest in defense currently. And there are certainly also countries where it is ethically justified to support their defense. Looks like world peace is not in sight yet, unfortunately...

Just tried it since developer messaged me and the idea sounded interesting and it got so many upvotes and comments here. However, I'm not convinced at all. To authenticate, you select a photo from your device (or another storage location). If someone gets access to your device, there's a significant chance he finds the key image by checking recently used files. The additional collectables might...

I'm happy to test an app on mobile. Whether I'm interested in a mobile-only app depends on the purpose of the app of course. For most purposes, working on a desktop has big advantages, so in these cases I wouldn't be interested in a mobile-only app.

I think in some specific cases it could make sense. What kind of work was the offer for?

Most importantly robotics, see Chat GPT's answer, and especially this article. I doubt an audio-only device will be successful, I think too many things just cannot be well communicated without visuals. OpenAI fortunately takes safety seriously traditionally, so the Head of Preparedness job offer shouldn't be a surprise.

I agree that humanoids may adapt faster in factory environments (incl. warehouses, construction sites etc.). While most robots there probably always will have non-humanoid form, it's clear that a human-like form is optimal for a significant number of tasks. At home, I think in the near future robots will be really useful only in special cases, e.g. for the elderly and disabled. But for these...

For me, it correctly identified a strong German accent. Sure a useful tool! Hope I'll have time to practice with the Fluently tutor soon :)

Looks like a good vibe coding tool for projects that are a bit more complex... But I can't watch your videos linked at "See real cases", says "video is private", can you please fix that?

If the app is successful you'll sure want to publish it for both platforms eventually. And cross-platform frameworks like Flutter can sure save much time here. However, since you're new to programming and publishing apps, I'd concentrate on one OS first and develop the app natively, you have one "layer" less that way. Writing the same app in another language and for another platform later will...

My first (and until now only) launch was @App Finder in Oct 2023. I joined PH only a few weeks before and didn't prepare much. I think it went better than expected, didn't get into the charts, but still got a lot of comments and upvotes. I paused working on App Finder for some time to do some other things, but I'm working on it again now and will launch again in a few month. Planning to launch...

Thanks for mentioning me, this is certainly an interesting question, but I'm clearly not an expert here. It surely will be very challenging to establish a "human settlement" on Mars, but at least in some limited form (people living there inside buildings, and for only a few years at a time), it will certainly be possible. Some main issues would be atmosphere, temperature, radiation, water,...

Humanoids will be a very big thing in the future, that's very clear. There's no fundamental reason known why it shouldn't be possible to build robots that can do all physical activities (and much more and better) that humans can do. What I don't know is how long it will take to build humanoids that are really useful for a wide variety of tasks. It may be just some years or some or many decades....

I think this is a very good question! As others have pointed out, it is probably very difficult for a small startup to create useful longevity products because of the amount of research needed. Also, PH focuses on software, so we don't expect things like supplements here anyway. Still, I think there could be very useful longevity apps that could be implemented by a small team (e.g. guides,...
