I actually do not think OpenAI's decision was wrong. Altman seems to believe that the AI can not and will not be used for autonomous weapon systems and mass domestic surveillance under the contract, and I can follow his reasoning, see also this statement.

Seems to me rentahuman.ai is essentially a joke, maybe an experiment. Checked the "ai tasks", didn't see anything that makes sense. For something like this to have practical relevance, there would have to be AI agents that have a certain significant kind of autonomy, an own agenda, and the ability to earn money (which they could later pay to humans).

Nearly missed your launch @busmark_w_nika ... This is not an app I will be using as I never felt "addicted" to my phone or spending too much time with it. I'm happy to test an app on mobile. Whether I'm interested in a mobile-only app depends on the purpose of the app of course. For most purposes, working on a desktop has big advantages, so in these cases I wouldn't be interested in a mobile-only app.

Most importantly robotics, see Chat GPT's answer, and especially this article. I doubt an audio-only device will be successful, I think too many things just cannot be well communicated without visuals. OpenAI fortunately takes safety seriously traditionally, so the Head of Preparedness job offer shouldn't be a surprise.
