I exclusively used vim for two years and emacs for three. I had a >2k line emacs config. I love customization, but JetBrains won me over in 2020 because its smart completion was so good I didn't even need to learn new languages to use them. I could use new frameworks without shopping for plugins first. I have used VSCode remote development, but I always return to the JetBrains suite because it configures things I wouldn't have thought about.

I remember opening a bank account with Wells Fargo for a business before Mercury existed. It involved phone calls, scanning signatures, and keeping track of paper. Mercury's onboarding was easy, all documents are in one place, and I had a card shipped to me before I knew it.
I have incorporated a business the traditional way, which required keeping track of paper that I would fear losing. Stripe Atlas made incorporation instantaneous, and keeps all incorporation documents easy to access.
I also use Copilot and have used ChatGPT. Perplexity is the only service that can reliably use the latest libraries thanks to its specialized web integration.
