Check out the new updates at https://getblimpy.cloud

FYI, if you have already created an account with Blimp V1, you can just log in.

Don't forget to upvote Blimp to get it into the hands of more folks!

Update: GitLab Integration + Smarter AI for Your Code in ExplainGitHub

We shipped a major update to ExplainGitHub and it s all about making repo exploration faster, smarter, and more useful for real work.

What s live now

  • GitLab support (public & private): sign in with GitLab and chat with any repo just like GitHub.

  • Saved chats & History view: your conversations persist jump back into repos and continue where you left off.

  • Smarter context: ask in natural language the AI automatically finds the right files and uses them for more accurate answers (no manual file selection).

  • GitDiagram visualizations: get an instant architecture map to understand structure and relationships at a glance.

  • Browser extension: open chat directly from any repo page or swap github.com explaingithub.com.

Why this matters

What’s the point of “build in public” if nobody’s watching?

Everywhere I look, people say build in public to grow your product and audience. Sounds great except when you re starting from zero and literally nobody cares yet. From what I ve figured out, it s less about getting likes right now and more about leaving a trail, progress updates, decisions you ve made, even mistakes. Most of it will get ignored in the moment, but it builds a record that people can stumble on later. Also, public doesn t have to mean blasting it to Twitter. It could be small niche communities, Reddit threads like this, or a tiny newsletter. Basically, don t measure it by immediate engagement. Think of it as planting seeds for your future self. Anyone here actually started with no audience and made build in public work? What did you do?

We rebuilt our platform to help you go from idea → income in 1 minute (thanks to AI)

Last year in April, we launched on Product Hunt and today we are launching the biggest update to our platform yet.

Have you ever pivoted your business / idea? 💡

Tons of great products that we know and use everyday are the result of pivots. You know, sometimes the original idea just isn't working and you have to find a new niche and quick, other times you stumble on a use case that changes the whole game.

Have you ever pivoted? What's the story behind it? How successful was the pivot? I'd love to hear your stories, and potentially feature them in our newsletters!

Help me quit Chrome

I've been using @Google Chrome for years and honestly never thought much about changing. It just always seemed like the best and easiest option. Lately though, I've been feeling like maybe I'm missing out. Chrome doesn't feel like the no-brainer pick anymore, and I'm seeing more and more interesting browsers out there.

Currently, @Horse is my top pick. This is the one I'm most interested in trying out, but it also seems like a pretty different approach. I don't necessarily want my productivity to dip, but that may just be inevitable whenever switching.

What capabilities do you think the next generation of AI browsers should have?

We are currently looking for some new possibilities in the AI era, and browsers seem to be a good starting point. What capabilities do you think browsers should have in the AI era? Or, will browsers still exist in the future?

I'd like to share my thoughts first. I believe an AI browser should be a small AI OS:

  1. Excellent reading experience, with summarization and generalization capabilities.

  2. AI Agent capabilities, with the ability to automate most operations and predict behavior.

  3. An AI Agent Store, replacing the current plugin system.

  4. A good AI browser is a good MCP Services.

  5. A good AI browser must have excellent privacy management features.

What job roles do you foresee being most at risk of replacement by AI soon?

After reading the World Economic Forum s 2025 Future of Jobs Report, I learned that AI is both replacing and creating jobs. On one hand, AI is leading to job loss. The report mentions that 41% of employers plan to reduce their workforce because of AI automation. On the other hand, AI is also creating new opportunities. According to the same report, 70% of companies want to hire people to work on AI tools, and 62% are looking for workers who can collaborate with AI. This shows that while some jobs are being replaced, there is still a strong demand for new roles in the AI industry. I believe AI will probably create more jobs than it takes away, just like when computers first started appearing in the workforce.
