Why do Makers use AI-narrated demos of their product?
It feels cheap and also strips their product of humanity.
I think this is why Product Hunt forbids companies' accounts from launching products. It's all about human connection after all. This is why the actual maker should be the voice of their product.
Developers, Is GPT-4 Changing Your Product Strategy?🤔
I recently started experimenting with creating GPT-4 plugins for a side project, and it s made me rethink the whole product strategy. Instead of building a standalone app, I m considering focusing purely on a plugin that taps into GPT-4 s user base.
Is anyone else here debating the same move?
Are you worried about discoverability in an AI plugin store versus the traditional app store approach?
It feels like there s a gold rush happening, but also some uncertainty about whether GPT-4 plugins will become the next big distribution channel or just another niche. If you re a developer, founder, or even an investor, I d love to hear your perspective on how (or if) you re adapting your roadmap to fit this new AI plugin ecosystem.
Anyone using AI as a second brain for content creation?
Hey everyone, I ve been playing around with different ways to keep my ideas, research, and drafts in check, but it still feels like I m drowning in research. :P
I ve tried traditional note-taking apps, but they re not flexible. And mind maps? They start out fine but turn into a mess as it gets complex with more data.
Is GPT-4 About to Shake Up the App Store Model?
I have been playing around with some GPT-4 plugins recently (like the travel ones that book flights for you), and it got me thinking: Could this plugin ecosystem eventually replace the traditional app store model (like on iOS or Google Play)?
Right now, we switch between dozens of apps for random tasks (booking a hotel, checking the weather, ordering groceries), but if ChatGPT can handle all that directly, why would we need separate apps for each thing? It almost feels like a central AI OS.
Is that too futuristic of a prediction, or do you think it might be coming sooner than we think?
How do you see this impacting smaller developers does it open up new opportunities or create more competition under one AI umbrella?
Help me quit Chrome
I've been using @Google Chrome for years and honestly never thought much about changing. It just always seemed like the best and easiest option. Lately though, I've been feeling like maybe I'm missing out. Chrome doesn't feel like the no-brainer pick anymore, and I'm seeing more and more interesting browsers out there.
Currently, @Horse is my top pick. This is the one I'm most interested in trying out, but it also seems like a pretty different approach. I don't necessarily want my productivity to dip, but that may just be inevitable whenever switching.
What do you think is Cursor’s most irreplaceable strength?
To be honest, I find Cursor s VS Code experience quite uncomfortable. However, the fact that it runs seamlessly within my codebase is what keeps me from abandoning it.
That said, if Copilot were to offer the same level of integration, I don t think I d continue using Cursor. Copilot is gradually catching up with the features Cursor provides, and it works within IntelliJ, which is a big advantage for me.
Are AI comments a (good) future for social media?
Today I read this message:
Instagram has just added the ability to write comments with AI.
A similar option LinkedIn has (it offers pre-written recommended comments like "Congratulations")
How could AI enhance real-life connections?
Hey Product Hunt fam!
I'm Jianbo, an internet veteran turned AI explorer. We believe AI should enhance human life, not replace it. That s why we built YNXO, an AI-powered social app designed to make online interactions more meaningful, efficient, and fun.
Does anyone trusts AI for fashion?
I am thinking of building a multi agent tool which helps you dress better. Imagine it as a fashion assistant of yours who assess your clothes, guides you and helps you dress better. Got a few negative comments that they wouldn't trust AI but I wanted to know the mentality of you guys here.
here is the site though : https://fitchecklab.in
I made a typing game!
Having done development for over 20 years, I never really made a game. However, with AI I figured it was worth seeing how much easier it would be to make one. So with the help of Cursor I re-created an old typing game (Typing Maniac) I used to love to play. Here it is:
Word Smash Typing Game
