I really like the UI of Ollama, especially the CLI. There's a lot to love there. Unfortunately, on macOS it's not the best option because it doesn't support MLX, which runs models 10% to 20% faster, and with lower memory usage. There is an open ticket with a pull request for adding a MLX backend from 2023, but it's been stalled for awhile. If you use mac, try LM Studio, mlx-lm, or swama instead.

I tried a lot of my dictation apps before I installed Spokenly. It was pretty clear the moment I launched it, “Yeah, this is the one!” Vadim is a skilled developer with an incredible eye for UI design. He's also just a cool guy who's very kind, and I've enjoyed exchanging emails with him. He's always receptive to my ideas, and I'm always surprised when make a small suggestion and it'll be...

I didn't know I couldn't live without this. I also explored the alternatives: iPreview, glance, and the various native quicklook plugins, and Peek is far ahead of all of them. Easily worth the $8. One downside is that it is not open-source (at least, I couldn't find it on github).

- Price Drop & Availability Alerts.
- Browser extensions - once installed the Keepa price history graph will be displayed directly on each Amazon product page.
- Compare international Amazon prices.
- Wish List Import.

FSNotes is a great minimalist notes app, but also – what is not often mentioned – it is a drop-in replacement for the pioneering Notational Velocity and its frankenstein-successor nvAlt. If you're habituated to the search-or-create command in NV, you'll be immediately comfortable with FSNotes. The developer has a great open-source philosophy and is very active in the project.

KeePassX is an abandoned project. I recommend people switch to KeePassXC, which is a actively-maintained community fork with many improvements and bugfixes. https://www.producthunt.com/posts/keepassxc

Many people trust KeePassX to protect their passwords and secrets, but aren't aware that it hasn't been updated in many years; the developer basically abandoned the project. I always recommend KeePassXC because it has many important improvements and fixes. Pros: Based on a trusted codebase, with many improvements and bugfixes Cons: Perhaps not for unskilled users; manual setup required for...

Twitter released 280-character tweeting, but only to a few people during a trial period. This Chrome extension did add the ability for everyone to tweet in 280 characters on TweetDeck.
Update Oct 5: This extension no longer works. Twitter and TweetDeck are now both validating tweet length at the API. ⚰️
