Many people trust KeePassX to protect their passwords and secrets, but aren't aware that it hasn't been updated in many years; the developer basically abandoned the project. I always recommend KeePassXC because it has many important improvements and fixes.

Pros:

Based on a trusted codebase, with many improvements and bugfixes

Cons:

Perhaps not for unskilled users; manual setup required for multi-device sync

I'm using for 6 months and I can provide positive feedback based on my experience. Simple, easy to use, DB merging is good idea, password generation is rather flexible for different needs.

The best! I have been using KeePass (the original) for at least a decade, but about two years ago, I had to go multiplatform (Win + Linux) and KeePassXC is perfect for providing a consistent user experience across platforms.
