Propane Propane
Founding Designer @ Propane

About

I've spent 15 years building products, drawn most to the 0-to-1 stage where nobody's written the playbook yet. I'm Founding Designer at Propane, a customer intelligence platform for AI-native product teams. I joined early and shaped a lot of it: brand, product, the words on screen. I design straight into code with Cursor and Claude Code, so there's little gap between an idea and a working feature. Before that I led design at Mover (logistics for IKEA, Nemlig.com), took Light.inc from sketch to proof of concept, helped Motosumo find its footing as a consumer product, and helped scale GameAnalytics past 70,000 developers. I'm a designer who writes. Lately I'm most interested in the gap between a prompt and what the agent actually builds.

What's the PROBLEM your product solves?

In the month that I've been here, I've been noticing a pattern in a lot of launches - strong demos, polished UI, clear outputs of "what it does."

But when I ask myself "What problem does this solve?" I sometimes have to dig for the answer. (I come by that thinking honestly - I've spent 33 years building and fixing businesses, so this is the lens I can't turn off.)

Builders, which app do you take the most screenshots in?

Quick one for the builders here. During a normal workday, where do you actually capture the most, Figma, your browser, an IDE, Linear, somewhere else? I'm trying to map where the volume is, because where people take screenshots seems to matter more than where they paste them. Curious what your day looks like.

Apple reinvented Siri. But is it too late?

Apple has officially unveiled a revamped Siri, now known as Siri AI.
It s a complete rebuild powered by Apple Intelligence, which includes personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness.
It can now search through your emails, messages, and photos to surface relevant information on demand.

Siri AI also features a dedicated app that syncs conversation history across all your devices through iCloud, so you can start a chat on your Mac and continue it on your iPhone. That sounds impressive on paper.

But here is the elephant in the room: ChatGPT and Gemini have been doing most of this for two years. Is Apple genuinely innovating, or is this just a very polished catch-up job dressed in premium marketing?
