Over the years several students and young, ambitious people have asked me how to break into tech. Everyone has a different path so I'm curious to learn how others landed their first job in this field. Excluding many tech-related side projects in my youth (selling electronics on eBay, modding Xbox's, building websites, etc.), my first real career in tech was an unpaid social media intern at a gaming startup called InstantAction during my senior year at the University of Oregon. I discovered the opportunity through a marketing club I was a part of and was fortunate to land the role. I was such a noob but learned so much. That led to a full-time job after I graduated where I eventually was promoted into product management. The key learning for me was the importance of getting real-world experience asap (ideally before or during college) and building good relationships (by doing great work) with your teammates. At InstantAction I met Andy Yang who eventually recruited me to join another startup in San Francisco. My life changed after that.
I'm looking to relocate to Europe (preferably The Netherlands or Germany) from India and I'm wondering if anyone here has done it before. Would love to hear what the process was like for you and any tips/advice you may have for anyone wanting to relocate to the EU. Thanks in advance!
Being a founder/builder is a lot of work and can take its toll on your health. What's your strategy for staying healthy? I'm a walker and can easily crank out 15+ miles a week, eat only plants and hit the gym 3-5x a week. What's yours?
I've noticed Product Hunt has added a few gamification features like the "streak" on the landing page as well as badges for the profile pages. I think they are well done because they encourage the behaviour the platform wants to see and at the same time they aren't in your way. The "core" experience of Product Hunt always had a strong game-loop thanks to the upvoting and daily ranking dynamics but it is interesting to see these core ideas still being fleshed out more and more over time. Well done! Question: have you come across other apps or platforms that do gamification really well? Where it feels like part of the thing and not just like a gimmick? Any pointers appreciated!
Hey everyone! It's undeniable that we need to take urgent action on climate change, and there are some fantastic products and tech initiatives that are making great strides to tackle it. What are your favorite products tackling climate change, and what makes you particularly excited about them?
While remote working, we all have had numerous discussions around the importance of sleep, and read many articles about the benefit of sleep, but do we sleep well? I am a person who needs 8 hours of sleep every night to function. I always thought that was such a waste of time. I envied others who could just sleep for 5 hours and still be ok until I read the book 'Why we sleep'. (I might now agree with everything in the book. but that's beside the point) Are you consciously trying to sleep better? Or you already do? How many hours of sleep do you manage to get daily?

Among instant-famous.com services, there are interactions, followers, views, and more. They also offer premium networks and sponsored placements. In their words, most of their services are 100% Money Back Guarantee. This means that if they don t deliver an order, there will be a full refund. This provider doesn't work with many platforms, but their plans are complete. Instant Famous This site sells quality interactions but is limited to a few networks. Few payment methods are also a downside. Despite this, their guarantees ensure a safe investment. Working with real followers and interactions, a true marketing strategy is offered. In conclusion, they re one of the best options out there.
Trying to get a sense for what human services or tech products people use for managing their financial health... Of course there's Quicken and Mint in one end of the spectrum, and then there's the hands-on human advisor or planner on the other end. Which do you use and why? What has your experience been like and what would you recommend to someone who wants to take control of their financial present & future? Note: I tried adding survey questions, but Product Hunt wouldn't let me post it, so I've added some choices below!
Hey PHers! Looking for feedback here :) I wanted to create a workflow automation platform that ran purely on API calls. The premise is simple 1. Add as many API calls you want
2. use the output from the previous call, into any of the subsequent calls
3. add dynamic fields to the api call inputs
4. link them all together into a workflow The workflow platform would have all the basic functionalities like looping data, conditions, multiple trigger options with a clean and simple approach to workflow building. After a year of tinkering and working with clients, we are ready to let early adopters in - Pathfix Automation If you are open to try/test out the API based system, join the waitlist and add PH in the comments. We will push you up on the list and I will personally reach out to you and get your thought :)
