How do you divide your time between coding new features and talking to users?

There's always a endless list of bugs to fix and updates to ship every single week.

But every time i actually get on a quick call with a user i realize half the stuff i just built wasn't even that important to them. It's hard to know when to put down the code and just listen.

How many hours a week do you actually block out just to chat with your customers?

Do tech recruiters actually care about affiliate projects on a CS resume?

Building a real project is way better than copying basic tutorials but i'm not sure if an affiliate setup stands out to hiring managers.

I want to create something that brings actual cash to users, but worry it might look more like a marketing tool than a solid software build.

Would you recommend sticking with a monetization idea like this, or building something more technical?

Are AI dev tools creating a generation of coders who struggle with high-level architecture?

I love how fast AI helps us ship features but I ve noticed a risky habit creeping into daily workflows. Because it takes two seconds to generate a fix for any error there s almost zero reason to step back and analyze structural design choices.

It feels like we're spending all our energy making code work in the short term, rather than learning how to architect scalable long-term software.
