This is great! As a product manager the first thing I thought after seeing this was how awesome it could be for really lightweight lean product specs. I'd have a tab for for overview / timetable, validation, features, tech, and UX. If only you could embed wireframes somehow. What do the other PMs on PH use for this purpose?

@colemercer Thanks for commenting, Cole, great to hear that. It's exactly what I use Thought Plan for myself! :) The wireframes that you would like to embed, are those images or...?

@colemercer @mackseraner I had the same thought -- would also be cool if there was a (non-invasive) comment feature for collaboration.

@_helpmeranda Comments would be pretty cool, nice idea! If you want, you can post a feature request here and have others vote on your idea: http://thoughtplan.uservoice.com...

Thanks for your feedback, let me know if there's any more! :)

Hi everybody, I'm the developer of Thought Plan! I just got home and was wondering about the large amount of user activity until I was linked here. Thanks so much for posting this. If you have any questions, I'd love to answer them here! Thanks!!! :)

The idea of using Markdown for formatting your thoughts is pretty convenient, although I do believe this is not usable when creating a mobile app/website. I like the layout of a "thought", It's like creating chapters/subjects within a bigger subject.

@bramk Hey Bram, thanks so much for posting this here, you've made my day! :) Thought Plan currently hardly works on mobile because it's not optimized for touch yet. Hoping to have that sorted out soon though! :)

Have this problem all the time where I have a thought or idea about a project that I need to write down... I'll grab a pen wherever I am and scribble it on my hand, or use my phone to e-mail it to myself for later consumption.

I'd love to see a mobile app + also team sharing capability integrated into this.

@rossdcurrie Hi Ross, thanks for commenting here! :) Mobile apps and collaboration for teams are both planned! :)

Love it! As a creative director, I'm seeing lots of potential uses in the context of client work. Would love to see image embed (for moodboarding) and Slack integration at some point in the near future.

Played with this app this morning and am really liking it. I look forward to watching it develop. I currently use some combination of Workflowy and Simplenote but I believe this could be a better approach and I'm way into markdown. I pay for Workflowy Pro, so this is definitely the type of app I would pay for when its ready.

To pull me away from other tools, I need a great Android app that syncs in the background (always has the latest notes) and works offline. I'm sure mobile is in the plan and I look forward to it :)

@ccarella Hey, thanks a lot for the kind words and the helpful feedback. I'm glad you're enjoying Thought Plan! :) Mobile is definitely planned!
Chris Carella — Product Hacker
@mackseraner I just started integrating this more deeply into my workflow and OMG I love it. Keep at it.

@ccarella Thanks so much Chris, I'm glad you like it! :) :)

Wonderful concept... I've struggled with capturing ideas for years. Agree with all the limitations captured in this video. Still might need simple toolbar for rich text editing if you want mass acceptance (getting the WordPress crowd).
M
Max Schmitt — Developer of Thought Plan
@paisano Thanks a lot Paisano, it's great to hear that you feel the same way about these things. Rich text editing is a tricky subject because it takes away from the simplicity, but you have a very good point about the WordPress crowd!
Paisano — Applanta
@mackseraner I understand... just include the option...sort of like advanced mode (without the popout rich text toolbar AKA training wheels)
M
Max Schmitt — Developer of Thought Plan
@paisano Great idea, definitely want to try this out, thanks! :) Let me know if you have any more feedback!

@mackseraner This is a terrific and simple site - I can't wait to dig in! I usually use Evernote for single documents or posts, but I haven't found it as useful for just jotting down ideas and giving them structure. Thanks!
M
Max Schmitt — Developer of Thought Plan
@weinberg81 Hey Dave, thanks for the kind words! :) Let me know if it lives up to your expectations and if you're missing anything!
Zack Shapiro — iOS at Splash
Github checkmarks spoiled me, no other markdown-formatted site seems to have em which is disappointing. Excited to give this a spin. Nice work @mackseraner!
M
Max Schmitt — Developer of Thought Plan
@zackshapiro Thanks Zack! :) GitHub-style todo-lists are on my radar, there's a feature request for them on Thought Plan's UserVoice: http://thoughtplan.uservoice.com...

Thanks for checking it out, let me know if you have any more feedback. Thanks! :)

I like the idea of this but is there an advantage of using this over Notes or Evernote on my iPhone/iMac?
M
Max Schmitt — Developer of Thought Plan
@yo Hey Troy, thanks for commenting! I use Notes on my iPhone/Mac for things people would usually use (sticky) notes for, like writing down my parking lot number, but I can't use it to collect my thoughts on a certain topic (e.g. a business idea) because it's not structured enough.

Evernote does have the concept of Notebooks, but it doesn't give me the same convenient at-a-glance structure that Thought Plan does and it always felt a bit bloated and slow to me. What do you think as (I assume) an Evernote user?
Troy Osinoff — Angel Investor
@mackseraner Ah, fair enough. I generally use gdocs and notes
Dan Clay — Creator of thetechreporter.com
This is great--was literally brainstorming an idea during a 2-hour drive today, came home checked out PH and see this! Super easy to use and fits the use case incredibly well. When's the iOS app coming? :)

Max Schmitt — Developer of Thought Plan
@danclay Hi Dan, thanks a lot for your kind words, I'm really glad you're enjoying Thought Plan! :) Mobile support is in high demand haha, I hope to have something soon! :)
Tiffany Zhong — VC @BinaryCap, formerly @ProductHunt
Love this so much. Most likely will replace my Google Docs with this :)
M
Max Schmitt — Developer of Thought Plan
@tzhongg Thank you Tiffany! :) Let me know if you succeed in replacing Google Docs – and if not, what I can do to make that happen for you!
Tiffany Zhong — VC @BinaryCap, formerly @ProductHunt
@mackseraner It's important for me to be able to print my notes so I'd love it if you could add the ability to export to PDF.
M
Max Schmitt — Developer of Thought Plan
@tzhongg Hey Tiffany thanks for getting back to me, I would also like this. Here is the feature request on UserVoice, feel free to leave your vote and comments there, too: http://thoughtplan.uservoice.com... Thanks and let me know if there's anything else! :)
Tiffany Zhong — VC @BinaryCap, formerly @ProductHunt
@mackseraner Already sent 3 votes that way :)

I'm looking for something like this but someone also recommended The Brain (http://www.producthunt.com/posts...). Are these similar products?
