Run Open Source AI models locally with ZERO TECHNICAL SETUP!

How does the local model performance actually hold up on a base M1 compared to a higher-end chip, and is there a way to offload heavier tasks to the cloud when needed?

@tchristythijr7b Hey Christy! Great question. On a base M1, smaller optimized models (like 7B or 8B parameters quantized to Q4) actually run surprisingly. Higher-end chips (Pro/Max/Ultra) mostly give you a massive boost in token generation speed and the memory bandwidth needed to handle much larger models smoothly
@asfandyarashraf depends on what you use LLMs for. If you're just doing chats, 24gb Macs should be sufficient but if you're looking to do long-horizon agentic work, the more the better.

models load fast and the multi-agent setup actually feels intuitive instead of overwhelming, which surprised me for something running fully local on my mac

@kazanr41891 Thanks so much for the kind words, Aras! Thrilled to hear that the multi-agent setup feels intuitive. A lot of local AI tools can feel like a cluttered terminal science project, so we spent a ton of time designing Zimmer AI to feel clean, modern, and seamless right out of the box.

@tchristythijr7b Offloading to cloud models isnt possible yet.
What minimum machine size i need to run this ?
