We built Zero to help people spend less time on email and spend more on what they truly care about. Zero allows you to write emails and organize your inbox in the way you want it to.
As a potential user, I have a suggestion: to put somewhere on the landing page that it works with Gmail. That would clear so many questions in an instant
But seems very interesting, I like that you emphasize the fast UI (Gmail is very slow). I'll try it out. Congrats on your launch!
@zot@aloizzie Unfortunately it appears to only be gmail right now. This is the most annoying thing about potentially exciting new email clients... they all launch with gmail only support and outlook or other support promised as "coming soon", which generally takes a year or never.

The design is clean and intuitive. I like the focus on privacy but as I was going through your website, it wasn't clear if the data being sent to some third-party LLM provider for processing(Google Gemini may be?), some clarification on this would be appreciated.
Potentially, you could also look into a native email client with a local LLM, it's challenging but could be done as LLMs get more advanced and smaller in size.
The story of this going from 0 (lol) to 1 was super interesting. A great example of building in public, from problem to idea right through to launch. It's open source too.
I'm hoping for an iOS launch in the near future. Good luck team.
Really appreciate what you’re building with Zero. Email takes up a huge part of the day for so many of us, and it’s refreshing to see a tool that focuses on giving control back to the user, not just with writing, but with organizing too.
Does Zero support custom rules or workflows to automate repetitive tasks (like sorting or tagging based on sender or content)? That could be a game-changer for productivity.
@shahriardgm Would love to learn more about this. Can you dm me on twitter? nizzyabi is my tag.

@nizzyabi@ajxb looking forward to trying this. Been waiting for a new email client for a while that fits. Question — what are your plans for a mac app, phone apps?

@ajxb @gregstone14 Hey Greg! A native desktop and phone app is in the works!
How well does zero support markdown? I use mailmate purely because of its markdown first approach. But I love the idea that zero is going for.
