Hey Product Hunters! We've started a new platform named YourTube. Here's the challenge we faced and the solution we're building: 🛠️ Problem While enjoying the usual sunrise surf, we came to notice all these talented surfers and surf photographers on the beaches of Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. But capturing the magic of the moment becomes a game of chance. As surfers, we often miss the opportunity to get our hands on epic shots of our sessions because the photographers have packed up for the day. On the other hand, as photographers, we struggle to connect with surfers post-session to sell our pictures. The disconnect between surfers and photographers means that amazing photos often go unseen and unsold. What we desire is a simple way to bridge this gap. ✅ Solution We thought we could create a platform that allows surfers and photographers to connect, share, sell or buy content easily. If a surfer has a great session, they can check YourTube to see if any photographers captured their ride. Similarly, photographers can use the platform to showcase their work and find potential buyers. We believe that by facilitating these connections, we can ensure that no epic wave or incredible photo goes to waste. Before investing a lot of time in building an advanced platform, we decided to test the idea by coding an MVP and handling most of the processes manually for now. We started locally (Santa Teresa, Costa Rica), but would want to expand to other locations soon. In the future, the goal would be to handle uploads and payments directly on the website.
