WebMagic decided to build Wordwave to make high-quality transcription accessible, fast, and frustration-free. We saw how existing tools were either too complex, too slow, or lacked accuracy - especially with speaker separation and multilingual content. With Wordwave, we aimed to simplify the experience while offering powerful features like diarization, word-level timestamps, and support for 100+ languages. We're proud to launch a tool that feels effortless but delivers pro results.

When we first introduced the transcription function, we intentionally kept it simple. The basic idea was clear: extract speech from audio and turn it into plain text. There were no speaker labels yet, just a time division of each line that was spoken. The email you see here shows how it worked. After downloading the recording, users would receive a full transcription to their mailbox. But the tool didn't distinguish between speakers yet - it just recorded everything like a tireless digital notepad.
And it worked. We used it to document meetings, interviews, voice memos - anything that required quick and accurate recording. But over time, we realized we needed to add one more handy thing.
Our team wanted to know who spoke when, separate each person's roles, or extract only their lines from the recording. That's when we started to improve the tool. The next steps were diarization, speaker tagging, and speaker-based audio separation - all built on the same simplicity and reliability that made the first version so useful.

I’d like to tell you a little story about why we (WebMagic) decided to build Wordwave.
At first, it was just supposed to be our secret tool. A simple, fast transcriber we could use for meetings, interviews, and all those “we’ll write it down later” moments that never really happen.
We built it for our own team. But the more we worked on it, the more we realized it could help a lot of other people too - creators, students, teams, anyone who needs clean, accurate transcripts.
So we decided not to keep it to ourselves. We’re making Wordwave available to everyone.
Right now it’s still in development. We’re finishing a few things before testing starts. And we already have big ideas for features we want to add in the future. We can’t wait to show you more.

I'm happy to share that I had the opportunity to be part of the early testing phase of Wordwave, and it's been a great experience. From the start, it felt like a tool made with real care, not just something quickly thrown together.
The transcripts are clean and well-structured. It does a great job separating speakers, and the word-by-word timing is super helpful for creating subtitles. I also tested a few different languages and was pleasantly surprised by how well the auto-detect worked.
There are still a few things being refined, but even at this stage, it's already one of the most practical transcription tools I’ve used. I'm really excited to see what’s next!

When we started working remotely, we ran into the same problem over and over again: hours of recordings from meetings, interviews, and calls - and no easy way to make sense of them.
We tried typing notes by hand, but it took forever. We tried online services, but they were clunky, expensive, or made us nervous about privacy. It felt like something that should be simple… wasn’t.
That’s why we built WordWave. At first, it was just for us - a tool that could quickly turn recordings into clear text, separate speakers, and even add timestamps. The idea was simple: upload a file, get back a transcript you can actually use.
The surprise was how much it helped. Instead of losing half a day to manual notes, we suddenly had clean transcripts in minutes. We could focus on what mattered not on rewinding and retyping.
Now we’re opening it up for others to try. If you’ve ever had to deal with interviews, podcasts, lectures, or long team calls, you know the pain. WordWave isn’t perfect yet (we’re still improving), but it’s already saved us countless hours.
And this is just the beginning - we’re already planning the next thing to make WordWave even more useful.
We’d love for you to give it a spin and tell us what you think. Your feedback will shape what comes next.
