I didn’t really set out to launch a game.
I love building things, and a few months ago I had an idea for a word game that I thought would be fun to make and, more importantly, fun for me to play.
I’m a very competitive person, so I’ve always enjoyed games where there is a score to chase, a personal best to beat, or a friend to challenge. I wanted to bring more of that feeling into a word game. Something less like a traditional puzzle and more like a fast game where you get 60 seconds, go as hard as you can, see your score, and immediately think you can do better.
At first WordSnap was just that. A small game I was building for myself and sharing with a few friends. Then I kept having ideas. I added something, played it, changed it, shared it, got feedback, polished it, and then added something else. Over time it grew into Daily Inferno, leaderboards, streaks, missions, personal bests, and Snap Duel.
I’ve been working on it mostly over weekends alongside my full-time job for close to four months. It definitely became a much bigger project than I expected, but at some point I realized I had built something I was genuinely proud of and something other people might enjoy too. That’s really why I decided to launch it.
If you play a round, I’d love to hear what you think, especially whether it gives you that “I can beat that score” feeling and pulls you into another one.
