WITHSTAND is an iOS recovery app for adults that connects you with anonymous peer presence for the next hard moment. Real people, five structured minutes, no free-text peer chat. When an urge hits, you can reach out for human presence, support others who are struggling, create a personal recovery plan, and build a small circle of trusted people you can turn to.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I’m Hiroaki, the solo developer behind WITHSTAND.
I’m also someone personally connected to Gamblers Anonymous and gambling addiction recovery. One of the things that has influenced me most through recovery is the power of peer support — simply knowing that another person understands, is present, and is willing to stand with you when things get difficult.
That became the starting point for WITHSTAND.
Most recovery apps focus on tracking streaks, journaling, blocking access, or providing information. Those things can be useful, but I wanted to focus on a different question:
What happens in the actual moment when an urge hits and you need another human being?
WITHSTAND is built around that moment.
You can ask for support, be present for someone else, create a recovery plan for difficult situations, and invite trusted people into your Personal Circle.
I deliberately don’t want AI to become the “person” you depend on in recovery. Technology should help people reach people — not replace them.
This is still the beginning, and I’d genuinely love feedback from people in recovery, families, peer-support communities, clinicians, and anyone working in addiction support.
Thank you for checking out WITHSTAND. 🙏
