I really appreciate the original concept of Rewind on macOS, but since I mainly use a Windows computer and their product has not yet been released on Windows, I made a simple alternative for my own use a few months ago. After months of use, I have gradually improved and developed it based on my own needs. It has now reached a level of completeness and stability, so I want to share it with others who have the same needs. I have used it to record about 6 months of desktop data. Its concept has been very useful, helping me retrieve memories(article, meme, chat, movie sub..), not forget things that happen in a blink, and leave traces of the past.(in a way it's like Black Mirror S1E3: The Entire History of You). For the sake of privacy and transparency, this project is mainly developed using python and build in open source. However, as I'm not a pro developer, the product itself is still imperfect and has plenty of room for improvement and the iteration process won’t be very efficient. The user experience is far inferior to Rewind. If anyone has similar needs and is interested in the project, you are welcome to take part in discussion and development. 🏵️
