Hey PH 👋 — wanted to share a bit about the new game we just shipped in this update: Count Safari.
It's a counting game for young kids — the age where they'll count anything in front of them. Stairs, dogs on a walk, crackers on their plate. That instinct is doing real developmental work, and I wanted to build something that respects it.
We leaned into child development research pretty hard on this one. Researchers have mapped three distinct competencies kids acquire in sequence when learning to count:
One-to-one correspondence — one touch, one number word, one object
Cardinality — understanding that the last number you say names the whole group (kids can recite numbers correctly for a long time before this actually clicks)
Relational number sense — more, fewer, same — without counting each one
Count Safari's three challenge modes follow that sequence deliberately. It's not just "the same question but harder" — each mode targets a different conceptual leap

We don't do much screen time at home, but when we do, we are very selective - and this app has been perfect. We especially love the narration in multiple languages (Chinese & Spanish!) because that supports what our kids are learning at home too.

This app is great! I don't love giving the screen to my kids, but sometimes I just have to. So it's great to know they will be learning something. The different languages are a major plus!
