Whether it’s the 1-second judgment of Tinder or the chaos of random chat sites, we’ve lost the art of actually talking to people. WHOBEE is a social experiment designed to fix that. I’ve spent the last few months engineering a custom WebRTC pipeline to create a unique mechanic: The Blur: You match 1-on-1, but the video starts 100% pixelated. The Reveal: The video un-blurs by 10% every minute you stay connected. The Goal: If you don't vibe, you skip. If you stay, you earn the reveal. Why this matters: By removing immediate visual bias, WHOBEE forces authentic rapport. It’s gamified curiosity. The Tech Stack: For my fellow hunters, I built this using Next.js, Tailwind, and a high-performance WebRTC Insertable Streams architecture to ensure the blur processing happens smoothly in the background without freezing—even on mobile browsers.
