I'm the developer behind WhereToGo at spdev labs, a small London company. It's a free Android app: people post places they love with a photo and a real pin, you follow the ones whose taste you trust, and the map shows how busy a place is right now as a live count. Nobody is named at a place unless they chose to be, there's no location history, no ads, no advertising ID.
It went live on Google Play last week and launches here on Monday.
Before it does, I'd like the objection, not the compliment. What's the first thing that would make you close it? "Empty map in my city" is the one I expect, and it's honest, so I'm curious about the second one.

Hey Product Hunt, I'm the developer at spdev labs Ltd, the London company behind WhereToGo. I built it over ten months because every time I moved to a new city, the places worth going to were in friends' heads, not in review sites.
So: you post a place with a photo and its real location, follow people, and see where they go on a map. Busy-ness is a live count, nobody is named at a place unless they chose to be, and there is no location history at all. No ads, and the privacy policy lists every piece of data collected in one table.
It launched this week, which means your city is probably quiet. Post one place you'd send a friend to and you've already made it better. Everything you tell me here goes straight into the next release.
