I heard about this from Polito:
Content companies, including the movie industry, have been vocally supportive of voluntary initiatives to battle online piracy. The MPAA has launched its own effort, titled “Where to Watch” — a website that directs viewers to places they can download or stream movies legally — and helped launch the Copyright Alert System, a partnership with Internet service providers designed to educate web users about and eventually diminish copyright infringement. MPAA CEO and former Sen. Chris Dodd earlier this year called that effort “an important step forward in building collaborative programs through which the content and tech communities can work together.”
@jamiew looks like this is powered by gowatchit (or at least "set tv alert" is). Canistream.it is still my favorite service for this, if only because I can select what services I have and get alerts when it shows up on a service I already pay for.
Was hoping to see this as a solution for watching sports streaming, using existing cable logins. I know that many people know about Watch ESPN, but the average fan doesn't know that TNT, MLB, NBA etc all have streaming services.
