Jimmy from Wedgies here. Glad to answer any questions. Including how we scored the domain Wedgies.com. Also happy to hear any feedback the community here has.
And as a teaser, here is our next feature that is in soft launch with Twitter.

@jimmyjacobson this is awesome. I didn't know you could embed polls like this on Twitter. I need to catch up. I bet we could do some creative things with Product Hunt.
@rrhoover This is a brand new integration that Wedgies is powering in partnership with Twitter. It's in limited release right now but would love to talk about getting ProductHunt into the beta.
Maybe a silly question but are there some demo polls we can check out? I see the one twitter card poll in the comments here (which looks totally rad), but I couldn't find any examples on the website. I'd love to see a few more of these things in the wild...
Just want to make a quick note about how awesome the founders are. I had the chance to speak with them after an event, they were really down to earth. Oh, will one of the founders care to share the story you shared about owning the word "wedgies" online and something about bullies. On a kind of related note, my Wedgies shirt is one of my favorite startup shirts!
@KennedysGarage Ha! Thanks! @porterhaney and I have a lot of stories, most of them we reserve to tell over beers in dark bars. We do own both the domain Wedgies.com AND the trademark and have plotted many ways to use both to help end cyber bullying by delivering cease and desist letters to anyone found giving an IRL wedgie and bragging about it.
If any hunters travel through Vegas, where we are located, and want to grab a drink or coffee and hear more stories just hit us up on Twitter.

@rrhoover Thanks, Ryan! I love seeing comments from Tumblr users that are amazed when their Wedgies polls show up in their dashboard instead of being a grey box. There are also some nice tricks you can use with animated GIFs in a Wedgies poll that make them show up on the Tumblr Dashboard with autoplay.
At Tech Cocktail, we were looking for a way to poll our audience (via online and sms at events) in a flexible format that'd increase engagement and preferably not get gamed. Wedgies made that easy and were great to work with.

oh nice! Good to see Wedgies on here - super simple polls and easy to embed anywhere - use it quite often :)

Any insights into which type of content works better: lighthearted, or real data gathering?
@thomasknoll There is a lot of competition for your audiences' attention right now. Making your poll questions fit into the flow of the content they are already seeing will increase the response rate. I always advocate making your questions more fun and lighthearted, even when collecting real data. Upload an animated GIF of dancing octogenarians when making a Wedgies poll about age/demographics for example.
@rrhoover This is my favorite animated GIF Wedgie to date. If you have ever watched while someone tries on all five of their Warby Parker frames, you will appreciate this one too.

Other uses range from teams and groups voting on where to have lunch and publications like Engadget and Wall Street Journal expanding the reach of a story through readers voting and sharing their votes back to social media.
