I have some suggestions for UX
1. Most of the time consumed in application is on reading. So, your bar on the right contains many space. If i were you, i'd hide it while reading. You can model tumblr bar on the right menü.

2. You can differentiate links that are clicked or not. Producthunt is a good example for this.
3. You can show the time article will take near headline. Medium is a good example for this.
4. I think, you need to try simpler design alternatives. It is very colourful for me, now :)
And the success will come with community. You should showcase your experts on the homepage. Maybe you use categories, and show experts in every categories. I didnot like the homepage. It is a function based. You should add more egocentric functions on the home page. Your experts, categories, best guides, recent guides etc.
@ozguralaz Sorry for taking so long to respond, but thanks for the thoughts! Your comments are spot-on, and we're actually working on a revamp of the route UI to collapse the sidebar, remove distraction from the images, etc. We're also reworking the homepage to let you explore routes, and I like your 'best guides' idea.
