Wavind for iPhone and Apple Watch
Launched this week
Our first launch was the Wavind web app. This launch is the new native iPhone app, built from scratch for iOS rather than wrapping the website, with an Apple Watch app. The watch records surf and wind sessions by GPS, and Wavind turns the track into a map plus waves ridden, attempts, paddling and waiting time. It also adds push alerts when your spots look good and in-app Pro through the App Store. New platform, new device, new use case: on the water, not just planning at home.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Mateusz, a kitesurfer and surfer, and I built Wavind with my wife’s help.
We launched Wavind on the web this summer, and it works perfectly on a phone. What I really wanted was something the web can’t do: get an alert on the phone about perfect conditions, drop the phone, start a session on my wrist and paddle out. So we built a fully native iPhone app with an Apple Watch app. It just went live on the App Store.
Most important functionalities:
Session tracking on Apple Watch: tap your sport and go. Afterwards you get a map of the session plus waves ridden vs. attempts, paddling and waiting time (kite, wing and windsurf count legs and turns)
Forecast on your wrist: your spots, the wind right now and the week ahead
Every hour at 10,000+ spots scored 0–100 for your sport: wind, surf or both
Daily alert when your spots look good tomorrow
Boards that rank your spots for any day, or put two head to head
An assistant for "which of my spots is best tomorrow, and when?" or "where to go for my summer vacations?"
My own 90-minute surf at Praia da Vagueira came out as 20 waves, 3 attempts and 41 minutes just sitting and waiting. Exciting, and exactly the number I wanted.
Free to use, with optional Pro as an in-app purchase.
Two things I’d love your help with:
Surfers and kiters: does the watch’s count match what you remember riding?
Does the hourly score match your gut at your home spot?
If your spot is missing, you can suggest it in the app and I’ll confirm it.
