Free independent tracker for movies & episode level TV shows

I spent the last 6 months coding ViewNote to fix media tracking. It bridges the gap between movie journals and detailed TV show episode tracking. Drop your Letterboxd or TV Time data exports in, unlock deep profile statistics, customize your artwork with alternate posters, and track your watch history completely free of corporate paywalls or ads. Features no subscription gates, Postgres row-level security, and a zero-skipped-films data pipeline. Run by a solo developer.

Imported my Letterboxd export and was surprised how quickly it pulled everything in, the custom poster feature alone makes this worth switching for.
@volkanpiki4xl4 Thanks a lot! I put a ton of work into making that importer fast so people wouldn't be stuck waiting around. Since you like customization, definitely check out the custom profile banners too they completely change how your page looks. Drop a few TV shows in there if you watch them, the episode-level tracking is super smooth too
Love that it pulls in Letterboxd exports seamlessly and the no-paywall angle is huge. One thing that would genuinely help me though: a rewatch toggle on individual entries, so my completion percentages actually reflect what I've finished versus what I've returned to. Most trackers just lump everything together and it throws off the stats. Could even be as simple as a checkbox per title.
@kambertugc66753 This is amazing feedback. You're completely right lumping rewatches into basic stats ruins the completion accuracy. I'll think about it and add it too! In the meantime, definitely check out the yearly stats and rating distributions in the analytics tab they are fully unlocked and shouldn't be affected by the rewatch data. Let me know what you think of them
Dropped in my Letterboxd export and was surprised how clean the stats came out. Love that there's no subscription nonsense hiding the useful stuff.
@aslhanzgvei3kmThanks so much for giving it a shot! Keeping the stats 100% free was the main reason I built this paywalling your own data never made sense to me. Drop some TV shows in there too if you get a chance, the episode-level tracking and rewatch stats are totally synced up with the movies side. You can also change poster and banner for movie, shows, season, ep and put banner on your profile too Let me know what you think!
Finally tried dropping in my Letterboxd export and the profile stats were way more detailed than I expected, especially the breakdown by decade. Love that there's no paywall hiding the useful stuff.
@dndlerx Really glad the decade breakdown worked cleanly! I spent a ton of time on that importer to make sure it didn't skip anything. Definitely check out the custom profile posters and movie, show, season, ep poster and banner too check-ins when you have a minute curious to see how you like the TV tracking side compared to the movies.
really love that you actually built your own data pipeline instead of just scraping apis, the zero-skipped-films thing is such a thoughtful detail for a tracker. solo dev shipping something this focused is honestly kind of inspiring
@nazmiyeabike Wow, thank you so much! That really means a lot. Building the backend proxies to make sure no films got skipped was a massive headache, so I’m really glad you noticed that detail.
Since you appreciate the data side, definitely check out the decade breakdown in your stats tab. I'd love to know what you think of it!
