@stevenlow1983 Most probably be using it for demos or for doing video tutorials.

As a product manager who often does QA, I could see myself using this tool to take screen captures of bugs and then adding the video link to the story in Jira/Pivotal Tracker. Sometimes screenshots just don't cut it.
Nice work Vidyard team!
Thanks @kurtis_elliott ! It’s great to hear of all the use cases people plan to use ViewedIt for! We’ve been using ViewedIt internally and I can say as a developer having something more than screenshots is always appreciated :)
Congrats on the launch, Team Vidyard!
I've seen a couple of tools that do this sort of thing (Droplr is the first that comes to mind, and is in fact one that I use). The advantage of ViewedIt that I'm seeing right away, apart from the digital marketing side of things, is specifically in usability testing. Not only is the video handy to capture a screencast of what the user is doing, but it could also be really useful in capturing the facial expressions and body language of testers - something that goes missing in all other tools I've seen. Excited to give this a go!
Really interesting use case @alirtariq. I've been on both sides of the glass in user testing and you're right, capturing the physical reaction of the subject adds a whole other dimension to what they're doing on screen. Great idea!
What are your first impressions so far after using it?
@gadway I used it to have my wife share a journal with me that she didn't have the ability to save. Not the best of use cases, I know (two or three screenshots would've just sufficed), but it was a good excuse to try it out. It worked like a charm! My wife enjoyed using it too - and she hates downloading plugins and apps. And it was fun to see her giving some of her colourful commentary on the side :p
The onboarding is straightforward if a bit overly long. Again, I'm comparing with Droplr whose onboarding was hardly a couple of steps. Still, I'm rooting for this. Looking forward to making more use of this.
@alirtariq@gadway Thanks for your comment, Ali! We're constantly testing onboarding and want to keep it super simple. Would love specific feedback on information that wasn't necessary in onboarding, if you get a minute. Thanks again for checking out ViewedIt! Glad your wife enjoyed it too! :)
Hi Everyone! 👋
Daryna from ViewedIt here. If you signed up for ViewedIt, you probably saw a video from me in your Welcome email. 😄
Wanted to say a huge thank you for all the awesome feedback provided here throughout the day. We are grateful for your comments and so thrilled to hear that you're excited to use ViewedIt.
On a personal note, I have been hosting Product Hunt Toronto meetups for 2 years and have always wanted to launch a product on PH. Means a lot to be able to do this today. I owe so much to Product Hunt and this community. 🙏
Proud to see Canadians launching awesome stuff. Recently had to use Quicktime to solve this problem and the UX isn't nearly as VIewedit.
Will you ever be charging for this?
@ngardideh Hi Nima - thanks for the compliment, looking forward to seeing what you create.
No we will not be charging for ViewedIt. Perhaps in the future we may build a pro version with expanded functionality, but right now the go to market is more focussed on the enterprise platform in Vidyard.
The functionality you see today including unlimited videos, 60min recording length, screen tab and camera capture, viewer notifications, etc. will all remain free.
@ngardideh, right now we’re focused on building the best and easiest screen, webcam and voice recording tool to allow lots of users to create/share fantastic videos. We are really looking forward to learning from our users so we can choose the best direction for the product.
We don't want price to be a factor preventing people from realizing the potential of Video. For more on our thinking behind ViewedIt checkout:

This is fantastic! Congrats to the whole Vidyard team. What are some of the ways you anticipate people to use ViewedIt?
At Keen, we've been piling up a back-log of interactive demos and how-to guides due to a lack of great video recording software. We often use GoToWebinar for live broadcasting/recordings and I'm so excited for our team to try ViewedIt this. Will Vidyard power live broadcasts in the future? ;)
Also, someone mentioned using this to give product feedback vs. annotating pdfs. This is brilliant! As a PM, I'm constantly taking screenshots of a workflow and annotating pdfs for our engineers. Excited to try this out as an internal communication tool. Great work everyone!
Thanks @alexakmeyer!
Some of the awesome ways to use ViewedIt are for product demos, prospecting videos, how-to guides, bug reports, design walkthroughs, etc. We ourselves used ViewedIt to report bugs during the testing phase of the product and it was incredibly helpful. There are so many more use cases for various different roles and we are excited to see what new ones users come up with!
To your second comment, Vidyard actually already has a live streaming product that you can check out here https://www.vidyard.com/platform...!
Happy recording, and let me know if you have any other questions :)
Thanks @iamkevinhurley! There are awesome ways to use ViewedIt in various roles. If you come up with new ways to use it, we would love to see your videos!
Happy recording, and please reach out if you have any other feedback :)
