VAT Engine turns official EU TEDB data into a developer-friendly API for e-commerce. Resolve current or historical VAT by country, product class, and supply date; calculate exact tax amounts; store audit-ready transaction evidence; monitor OSS thresholds; and prepare OSS/IOSS reports. It combines EU-27 coverage, 37 merchant-friendly tax classes, source profiles, and compliance reporting in one workflow—without spreadsheets or country-by-country plugins. Currently in alpha.

would love to see a webhook option for when thresholds get close to the OSS limit, basically a heads up before it triggers. would save a lot of manual checking for shops scaling up across EU countries
@erekengize7493
Great suggestion, Gizem — I agree that shops should not have to keep checking the threshold manually.
VAT Engine already monitors OSS threshold progress and supports threshold alerts through the in-app inbox and verified-recipient email. Outbound webhook delivery is on the roadmap, including retries and HMAC signing, but it isn’t available yet.
For the webhook triggers, would fixed levels such as 80%, 90%, and 100% work for you, or would configurable thresholds per shop be more useful?
finally a tool that handles EU VAT without juggling 27 different plugins - the historical lookups by supply date saved me when auditing last quarter's orders.
@miranpma
Thanks, Mira — I’m glad the supply-date lookup was useful. Historical validity is a core part of VAT Engine because audits, refunds, and corrections need the rate that applied when the transaction occurred, not today’s rate.
Which part of the audit process was most difficult before: finding the historical rate, matching the product category, or reconciling the original orders? That feedback would help me prioritise the next audit and export improvements.

VAT Engine looks really promising. Congrats on the launch and wishing you a huge day! 🚀

Thank you, Zvonimir! I really appreciate the support. VAT Engine is still in alpha, and I’m excited to keep improving it with feedback from the community 🚀
