Sorry @mariana_salcido. Based on hard earned experiences, we have decided not to have a free tier. This is based on experiences from the early days of UpWave, and advice from seasoned mentors. After launching, UpWave was freemium for 4-5 months. We expected this to work out fine, but conversion rates were way too low. We changed from freemium to trial around summertime. This was crucial for our business. We know that many well known players in the collaboration space have dismal conversion rates from their freemium models. A well known tool has a conversion rate from sign-up to paid of less than 1%. They also have a rate of <5% paying out of their monthly active users. That is unsustainable as a business practice long-term. There are some companies who have mastered freemium. Slack is a great example, and have set decent caps on what you get for free. But most companies give away too much for free, burn investor money, and pray that they are able to sell their company (along with their non-paying users) to a bigger fool somewhere down the road. Before they run out of investor cash and patience. We feel that it is better and much fairer to have one low price for all users, with full functionality from the start. Better for our users and better for us.

Thanks for the tip @pvutrix. I have actually never tried it. Will have a look. From what I gather from their webpage they are positioning themselves as a project management tool, with "heavy-duty tools, for the power users" and integrations with GitHub, Jira and the likes. This is an entirely different target market than our user segment. We wish them all the best.
