Upto puts every app and command-line tool on your Mac in one list, whether it updates through the App Store, Sparkle, Homebrew, TestFlight, Setapp, npm, pipx, uv, or only from a download page. It checks as often as you choose, finds update sources for most apps without one, and notifies you, with a count on the Dock and menu bar. Release notes show in your language, translated on your Mac. Upto verifies every download and installs it in place, one at a time or all at once. No account needed.

Hi,
I'm the developer of Upto. Some of you may know Looq, Mux, or Ajar, which Parcse launched here before.
Mac apps update from a dozen places. The App Store has a tab for its own apps. Apps that update with Sparkle ask when you open them. Homebrew updates what it installed when you run it. Many apps from the web never mention a new version at all. Upto puts every one of these apps in one list, App Store or not, and keeps that list current.
What Upto does:
Lists every app and command-line tool on your Mac, grouped by where it came from
Checks each app where it updates (the App Store, Sparkle, Homebrew, TestFlight, or its download page), from every hour to once a month. Setapp apps keep updating through Setapp
Finds update sources for most apps that don't have one, and asks you to review the ones it isn't sure about
Notifies you when it finds updates, and shows how many are waiting on the Dock icon and in the menu bar
Shows release notes in the list, finds them when an update comes without any, and translates them on your Mac when they're in another language
Verifies every download against the developer's signature, then installs it in place, one at a time or all at once with Update All, quitting and reopening apps as needed
Updates Homebrew formulae, npm packages, pipx and uv tools, and tools like Claude Code the way they were installed
Looks at home on the latest macOS as a native Mac app, in Light or Dark
No account and no analytics. Upto runs on macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later.
If you used MacUpdater: it stopped being maintained on January 1, 2026, and its database server will be turned off at the end of 2026. There's nothing to import. Upto finds your apps the first time it opens.
Launch offer: the yearly plan is $14.99 a year for up to 5 Macs and stays at that price for as long as you're subscribed. Upto is a subscription because finding updates is ongoing work: sources change, download pages move, and Upto Index runs on servers. During the launch you can also pay once, $39 for up to 3 Macs, which includes Upto Index and every update until the next major version, plus a discount when you upgrade to it. You can try Upto free before you buy.
Tell me which apps Upto gets wrong, or can't find an update source for. I'll be here all day answering questions.
