UpTakes is a sports video camera app with gesture-powered instant editing: raise to record, lower to stop, and keep or delete each clip instantly — so there's no editing afterward and no sorting through hours of footage. A patented raise-to-record gesture (US Patent 11,082,609 B2) starts filming when you raise your phone — no button, your eyes never leave the game. Your highlight reel builds itself in real time, ready to share before the game's even over. On iOS and Android.

Hey Product Hunt, I'm Adam Garff (Joseph on the profile, but everyone calls me Adam) — a sports dad who got tired of two things: fumbling for the record button and missing my kids' best plays, then losing the whole evening sorting through an hour of footage to find six good seconds.
So I built UpTakes. There's no record button — you raise your phone toward the action and it starts filming, lower it and it stops (a patented gesture, US Patent 11,082,609 B2). After each clip, one quick gesture keeps or deletes it. The keepers rise to the top of your camera roll as a highlight reel that builds itself in real time — ready to share before the game's even over. No editing afterward, no sorting through hours of footage, no waiting on another parent's video.
It's live on iOS and Android — free to try for 30 days plus 3 game days, then $9.99/year. I'm the solo developer and I'll be here all day — would love your feedback, especially from other sports parents. What would make this a must-have for your sideline?
