I launched a file tools site today, and while building it I kept a list of things that drove me mad on other converters: sign-up walls after the first file, watermarks on the output, tiny size limits, and pages so full of ads you can t find the download button.
I m curious what s on your list. Is it privacy (where do my files go?), speed, file size limits, or something else entirely?
For context, mine is TypeorDrop. Files are deleted automatically, and you can start without signing up. I d rather hear what s still wrong than what s fine, so be honest.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm Rakibul, a solo developer from Bangladesh. I built TypeorDrop because I was
tired of jumping between five different sites to convert, merge and compress
files and hitting signups, watermarks and tiny limits on each one.
What it does:
• 130+ file conversions (documents, images, audio, video)
• Merge Word documents and keep the formatting images, headers, page layout
• Compress PDFs to a target size (100 KB, 200 KB, 1 MB) handy for online forms
• Resize images with ready sizes for Instagram, YouTube and passport photos
• Make multi-size favicons from any PNG
It's free to start with no signup, files are deleted automatically, and Pro
($4/month) removes limits and ads.
It's built with Flutter web + FastAPI on a single small server, so I'd love
your honest feedback what's missing, what's confusing, what breaks?
Thanks for checking it out!

A few things I’m proud of that aren’t obvious at first glance:
The homepage box is the whole idea behind the name. Drop any file on it and it suggests the tools that work for that file type, or type what you need (“jpg to pdf”, “compress”, “merge word”) and it finds the tool. No hunting through menus.
Compress to an exact size. Many job and visa forms here in Bangladesh only accept a PDF under 100 KB or 200 KB. Instead of guessing a quality level, you pick the target size.
Merging Word files keeps the formatting. Images, headers and page layout survive, which surprised even me while testing.
You can close the tab. If you’re signed in, start a job, close the tab, and pick up the result later from History.
Would love to know which of these is useful to you, or what you’d want next.
