Hi, I'm Shilo and I created the Transcriberz.
As an Engineering Manager, I can't always listen to WhatsApp voice notes, since I'm busy with work meetings for most of my day..
That's why I created Transcriberz: a WhatsApp contact that gets a voice note and transcribes it into text in less than 2 seconds.
It is already used by more than 70K happy users. This tool isn't just for busy people - it also helps thousands of hearing-impaired people around the globe.
It currently supports English, Spanish, French, and German.
It's 100% free (and even advertisement-free!) as well as completely safe - no transcription-related data is saved.
Enjoy!
Congrats! Upvoted and tried.
1 feedback: it seems like the translation (English) can be further improved: I sent an audio of 1 long sentence but it returned just 1 word: Alors (which I guess in French).
A quick question: it seems you're running your translation service, and not calling external APIs like Google Translate?
@peterhungh3 I use Google speech to text APIs to transcribe it.
Thats interesting, what made you think I'm using my own?

@shilo_magen That's interesting too. B/c I saw the output was very short compared to the original input, so I was guessing if you're building your own model, and hence needs more training inputs.
Anyway, the above is just a small point. I think the app idea is great. And the service response time is really fast.
This is a really cool idea! Sometimes i like voice messages, but sometimes I'm busy or around other folks and can't listen. Do you have plans to add support for something longer than 60 seconds? (Unfortunately that seems to be a majority of my voice notes so i am not sure i'd really be able to utilize for less than 60 seconds!)
@britt_joiner Yup, all of the code is already written.
I just need to think about the business model since transcribing speech into text is pretty expensive.
@shilo_magen totally understand that, as doing something that's several minutes long would add up quickly. I for sure would expect to pay for something like this. Maybe you get x number of minutes of transcribed audio on a free plan (like 10 minutes a month or something? so could be 10 one minute or less messages, or 2 five minute ones), and need to upgrade to higher plan for more minutes... and some very high price for unlimited 😂
This is awesome! One of my big gripes with voice notes is that there was no way to easily do this. Kudos to the Transcriberz tea,!

What a cool idea! I love that my voicemails transcribe and always wish audio notes would do the same. Now you just need to expand to audio messages sent via text messages!
