Hey Product Hunt! š
I built TrakMiles Pro because I was tired of watching self-employed people ā including myself ā leave hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the table every tax season. I drive Uber and Lyft every day, so this is a problem I live with.
The problem wasn't laziness. It was that the tools available were either built for corporate expense departments, overpriced for someone running a one-person business, or so stripped down they only tracked miles and nothing else. A rideshare driver, a real estate agent, or a mobile notary doesn't need a fleet management system. They need something that works automatically in the background while they focus on the work.
I started simple ā just GPS mileage tracking. But I realized mileage was only part of the problem. People had no idea what their actual profit was after expenses. They were missing deductions they didn't know existed. They were getting surprise tax bills because nobody told them about quarterly payments. So the app grew ā revenue tracking, expense management, true double-entry accounting, P&L reports, Schedule C prep, Vehicle Auto-Detect that knows which car you're in, and a built-in AI assistant to answer the tax questions people are too embarrassed to Google at 11pm.
The biggest shift in my thinking? Realizing that gig drivers, agents, contractors, and everyone else who drives for their work are small business owners who've never been treated like it. TrakMiles Pro is my attempt to fix that. It's on Android with a 14-day free trial, no card required, then $4.99/month or $34.99/year.
Would love feedback from anyone who's self-employed. What am I missing? What would make your life easier? š
