The Spark & The Struggle Honestly? It was born out of a massive headache. I realized that while it’s easier than ever to buy a stock in New York while sitting in Mumbai or London, the tax side of that "freedom" is a total wreck. I was tired of seeing retail investors and NRIs get blindsided by wash sales or complex DTAA rules they didn't even know existed. The problem I wanted to solve wasn't just "tax filing"—it was the anxiety of not knowing your exposure until it's too late to fix it. How the Vision Shifted When we started, I thought we were just building a "calculator." I figured people just wanted a PDF for their accountant. But as we built TradingKite, the process shifted from hindsight to foresight. We realized a static report is just a post-mortem. To actually help people, we had to make the platform "live." That’s why we evolved to include the AI assistant—to help users understand the tax impact before they hit the sell button. We went from being a filing tool to a decision-making partner.
