Next.jsWe chose bare React Native because Tovel is a hardware-connected mobile app, not simply a web experience. We needed reliable Bluetooth Low Energy communication, background device operations, file transfers, and direct access to native iOS and Android capabilities. Next.js is better suited to the web, while Expo would have required additional native customization for our hardware integrations. React Native gave us the right balance: one shared codebase with the flexibility and control of native mobile development.
