Hey Product Hunt community! 👋 I'm Hitesh Chavda, the maker behind TokenMitra, launching today from Gujarat, India! So incredibly excited to share this with you all. 🙏 The idea for TokenMitra sparked from a moment of pure, shared frustration that I think many people, especially here in India, will recognize. Picture this: I was at a local hospital, waiting with my family. The waiting area was absolutely packed – easily 80 people! 🥵 Everyone, including me, kept nervously asking the staff, "Which token number is being served now?" I must have asked about 20 times myself! You could just feel the anxiety and the inefficiency in the air. Then there's the common Indian reality: when the wait gets really long, people need to step out for other urgent work or grab a quick chai ☕. But how do they track their turn? They end up constantly calling the reception desk, adding another layer of chaos for the already busy staff. 📞 Seeing this unfold, I thought, "There has to be a simpler way!" Not some complex, expensive software, but something dead simple, accessible, and practically free. Something that uses the tech everyone already has – a basic browser and a phone. That's how TokenMitra was born! It's a free, web-based digital token system. A Host (shop, clinic) uses any browser to display and control the token number. Viewers (customers) just scan a QR code to see the LIVE token number update in real-time on their own phone's browser. No app installation needed! ✨ So many fantastic small and medium-sized businesses here in India still manage queues manually simply because current digital solutions are often too expensive or complicated. TokenMitra aims to bridge that gap – saving businesses time and resources, and giving customers a less stressful waiting experience. It's built with PeerJS for real-time updates, works locally after setup, and importantly for my community, it's fully functional.
