TLDR

A few weeks ago I was looking for a Chrome extension that summarizes webpages ... fully expecting that this was a very solved problem. But I couldn't find a single one that was clean, fast, and worked well. Even the fancy new browsers (Arc) don't have this feature built-in. I was a little surprised ... and decided to build one for myself. I started using it all the time (biased, I'm sure...) and figured I'd package it up for others to use/try/give me feedback. Enter TLDR. It's really fast (says the proud parent). It's a sidebar for Chrome. It works for articles, YouTube videos and PDFs. And it handles 40 languages :) ps. It does not work in other Chromium-based browsers (like Arc) because the sidebar API tends to be flakier in those.

Useful to cut through the SEO noise and fluff and get to the meats and potatoes.

Now transcription got a competitor as an extension, the idea is helpful as an extension. All the best for the launch.
