Congrats, @acr!
I can see this being very compelling to the Crossfit community but to become a big business, you need to expand beyond that. There's naturally a lot of friction to create content (you can't film in some gyms, you have to have a friend record you, many people are very self-conscious when they workout, etc.).
What are you thoughts regarding this and do you see the product changing longer term to attract a more "mainstream," bigger audience?
@liveink - this is similar to what you were looking for a while ago, I think
Thanks @rrhoover,
Initially we're going to focus on bringing existing communities, gyms, teams etc, onto the platform to give them a place where they can safely communicate with their peers; share thoughts, ideas, give each other support and advice. We've got some neat features in store to enable this rolling out soon. This is a very real need that nobody else caters to.
Ultimately we want it to be a welcoming and safe space for anybody to track your journey to living a healthier life.
@acr You and your co-founder Hoon are avid CrossFitters down in Palo Alto, can you talk about building and testing Throwdown with the box that you guys go to and how it's been received there through building and shipping v1?
