Like many of us, I used to treat news as a daily habit, until it quietly turned into noise: ads, popups, clickbait, and social feeds that pulled my focus everywhere except what mattered.
The idea for TheReader.AI came from an unexpected place. At my previous company, our leadership wanted real-time updates on a single niche topic, delivered straight to Slack. That made me wonder: why can't everyday readers have news that respects their time and attention?
So we built TheReader.AI, a purposeful news app for India. It's built for purpose, not distraction. Every story is an AI summary of about 60 seconds from trusted publishers like The Hindu, Mint and Indian Express. It always shows its source and time, and there are zero ads, ever.
