The Ready Games app delivers three, brand new mobile mini games every week that anyone can play to win cash prizes. A new mini game drops every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3 p.m. ET. Players have unlimited practice runs, but only one chance to officially compete for the prize. The pot is split among the top 20% of players.
@colin_robinson So for now we make the games in-house using "Ready Maker" aka @getreadyio - our companion app that's an editor for kids/teens to make their own mobile games. Over time, we may expand the contests to the "maker side"- meaning we'll offer a prize system for creators that come up with cool games, which we chose to publish into the contest app. That, actually, is the origin story for "The Ready Contest": as a way to showcase games made in "Ready Maker," which has about 1 million users.
@colin_robinson@bryantpeng Correct, Bryant- we did raise some capital, and that's the strategy we're following: get the mechanics right, build the audience, then work with sponsors once we have critical mass.
@colin_robinson@bryantpeng@dbennahum I know that requires a lot of hard work so big ups on that. I see how this could turn into a platform to showcase these types of games and the developers involved. Great work!

Really interesting concept! How do you choose the mini games? is it your own IP's or you have collaborate with other developers?
@vijeshviswambaran Good question! For now we've been cranking the mini games in house. We've done about 60 in 90 days, which is pretty nuts. We're looking to develop an outreach program where an indy game dev can potentially make a mini game inspired by the game they're working on- as a kind of promo / teaser of their project. If we like it, we feature it in the contest. In exchange the dev gets exposure to a market of gamers. We'd have a "credit card" with info about the dev attached to that contest, so people can learn about the person behind the game, the new game they're working on, etc. If we can make this work, it will open up a big funnel of new game ideas, outside of our own little studio.

@dbennahum Thanks for your reply. I think having a outreach program will be really good as you can fully focus on core functionality of the app. Also this will help other indies like me to get more exposure to our games :).
@vijeshviswambaran yeah that’s the thinking. It wouldn’t be complicated to implement. Basically an Indy makes a game with our companion app “ready maker.” Then they share the link to us, we review their game, and if it’s groovy we cross post into Ready Contest.

@dbennahum Our team would definitely want to try it out, let me know when you start the process with indies.
Hey @jason glad you're having fun 🌈! Thanks for the ❤️!

This is probably the best app I ever downloaded! They make brain teasing games that reward you. You get unlimited practice time, and with the extra life system they just added, you’ll have more confidence doing official runs. Download it today!
Super fun games, I like that you're competing with people all the time
Pros:
Simple, fun and competitive
Cons:
Maybe too addictive?

Super cool! Combining the HQ format to WarioWare-style minigames makes total sense.
That being said, I think some UI polish would go a long way—it doesn't yet feel like a legit game where I could actually get $500. This is a v1 though, so I'm sure those details will be ironed out. Best of luck!
@bryantpeng Thanks! Yeah, this is 1.0, so we stayed pretty lean in terms of polish. What parts do you think should be prioritized? For me, it's the way we display the "winner screen," the "profile screen," and the "leaderboard screen." What about you?

@dbennahum That, plus little details like font sizes and even how the "back" buttons look. HQ would be a good reference 😉
