I’m very excited to share soon what Ashwarye Yadav and I, Omar Abdallah, have been working towards for the past 3 years. It has been an eventful journey with many ups and downs, but nonetheless we are still here, well and alive, working towards our collective mission of educating young children through the help of educational gamification, fighting our own battle against tablet addiction 🎮 Our unique approach of an offline handheld device that replicates and merges the same game elements as the popular video games (i.e., Fortnite/Call of Duty) with educational elements and emphasizes the use of interactive 3D software to teach children to learn independently and effectively. In a short amount of time, we have conducted various surveys with the prototype of the product receiving very promising results, gaining 100,000$ in funding from Qatar Foundation, while presenting our idea at a variety of conferences, from the WISE Summit to the Innovation Forum, reaching thousands of people worldwide. In the fall, I’m planning to attend Stanford University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, while Ashwarye is planning to attend UC Berkeley, majoring in EECS. We hope to be continuing our startup’s mission in the Bay Area.
