# Why I built this
Two of the biggest names in investing - Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger - often only mention two tools that they loved using during their investing carreer. That's the Moody's Manual and Value line.
No complex technical pricing graphs, no assortment of long and diverse financil metrics. Just a one page glance of a stock's information. Something that they could grasp the business in just one look.
In Mungers own words, "If you aren't using log scales for long-term charts, you're just kidding yourself."
A particularly useful tool was the log scaled graphs that value line used, you can tell if a company is compounding its earnings, the median price level for that stock, the earnings change and the real price change.
# What's so great about a log scaled graph
In a log scaled graph a difference from 100 to 200 is the same as from 1 to 2. Widely different than the standard linear graphs. Munger in particularly praised this exact notion countless times.
