Using The Dots has been an amazing place not just for expanding my connections but also helping me become more confident in myself as an illustrator and graphic designer. I first came across The Dots from Pip's talk at D&AD 2017 and I feel like I had an advantage leaving uni because I was already connecting with a lot of people from the design industry. Fast foward to now, what's really been useful is the Asks sections where I'm able to ask real questions that I'm struggling on and get feedback from so many willing creatives who have already been through the experience. It's made to be collaborative and encouraging rather than just exchanging of details for future reference. Totally would recommend!

Have still not taken full advantage but so impressed by the creative community they have created, feels far more intuitive to go there than linked in for creative industry opportunities.

I don't even have to look at this to know it's a dead end. Artists have always needed patrons to survive, so they can keep making art. As a designer you have to be where the money is, and right now that's LI. Don't call it the LinkedIn for Creatives. Call it DoubbleDribble or ReHance or something bc it's not going to do what LI already does for creatives.

@kempes76 definitely. I use it to help find diverse thinkers and interesting creatives. They’re simpler to find on the Dots than some of the other sites I’ve used. Also, love seeing projects and events on there. Lots going on all the time.
