I'm really bad at networking -- tether is a really great light way to get introduced to other people without having to try that hard, and chat is less stressful than in person. I've already got a couple good matches!

@abhi_sivasailam@daigz recently started trying to network more and it is a daunting process. Although I'm not located in your launch cities this could still be helpful and make building my network easier.

Let's be honest, if it's on slack that makes everyone's life easier. Seems pretty realistic to spend a few minutes of down time between meetings hopping on here and networking. That would already be a a few minutes more than I did last week.
I've been playing around w. this Slack bot for a few weeks and it's pretty enjoyable. The bot makes curated introductions based on select criteria inputs (i.e. travel, engineer, CEO, etc.) and uses Slack as a means of connecting a group.
@abhi_sivasailam and @daigz: what's the core problem you're solving and how to you make this bot into a daily habit for someone?
@daveambrose the core problem we're trying to solve is helping professionals expand their network. Networking is very difficult for people - It can be time consuming, stressful and downright daunting for some.
We wanted to make the process easy and fun by making curated introductions a la Weave and to do so, we turned to the tools that we believe make the most sense and already fit into your daily workflow (ML, Bots, Slack).
Recently I launched Catalyst: https://www.producthunt.com/post... and immediately I found that my network wasn't as strong as it could be. When I wanted to build up my network, the options were limited (Linkedin, events, social media etc.) and wanted a better solution.
We hope that our new members will find the introductions and meetings useful and find a cadence of meeting and providing feedback that works for them.

Amazing idea and great execution! Takes other products which tried to do this and just crushes them by embedding it right into what we all use at work - SLACK! Genius
