Hi everyone, Over the past two to three months, I've been building an application called TermBuddy on my own using "vibe coding" :) and I'm excited to finally share it with you. By way of background: I'm a computational biology scientist, and my day-to-day work involves managing numerous servers, running data analyses, and administering database servers. AI CLI tools like Claude Code have been a genuine game-changer for this kind of work, but they come with their own frustrations. Sessions don't persist for long, which means I'm often stuck sitting at my desk waiting for a run to finish before I can leave. And if I'm out and about, waiting for a bus, say, I have no easy way to check whether the AI has finished. On top of that, configuring remote server connections every time is a real chore. That's what sparked the idea behind TermBuddy. The concept is simple: you organise your work by folder, assign each task or terminal session its own "Buddy," and then send messages to that Buddy, which are passed directly to the AI CLI, to get things done. Every session is persisted, and when it ends, push notifications are sent to both your phone and your Mac. You can then reply from your phone to kick off the next round of work, all without needing to be at your computer. It's somewhat reminiscent of OpenClaw? :) though I should mention that when I started building this, OpenClaw hadn't been released yet. I suppose being a first-time app developer meant the process was a little slower than I'd have liked. TermBuddy also ships with a built-in terminal and file manager, so everything you need is right there in one place. The app comes with a one-month free trial, so please do give it a go.
