She’s absolutely adorable! What a kick arse promo. I get the decrease in consumption and the re-purchasing solution by keeping one same device for longer. There’s the grey market, used ones, etc.. that helps, a little. Everything else though.. unclear. The biting of the Apple and its timing bit was just too cool.

Buy a flagship that costs double and has half the warranty then. If it's a $1000 iOS device, maybe get 3 years out of it (with no warranty after the first) and have fun dealing with planned software obsoletion thereafter. Or get an Android flagship which at least doesn't purposefully self-destruct your phone with every update but has no more than a 1 year warranty and generally 2 years of update support (unless it's a pixel, in which case you get 3). Either way, your warranty runs out after a year and battery life plummets not long after, so you either have to buy new batteries anyways or get another phone because you're annoyed with the current one. It doesn't matter where the materials come from, this is sustainable in the most practical of a sense since you're actually incentivized to hold onto it for 4 years at least vs dealing with normal obsoletion.
