I love telly!! love keeping track of what i’m watching but also love the “watch on” feature lol. question for the makers: any plans to open the home feed to everyone? right now it’s just my friends and I don’t have that many (lol) but would love to see what everyone on telly is watching ☺️🥰 keep up the great work! i’m a big fan 💖📺

LOVE this question and idea - we've been inspired to open up the home feed more since seeing the global community feed on Bookworm Reads !! the toggle between everyone <> just friends is BRILLIANT. we're currently thinking about how to strike the right balance between feeling connected to the larger community vs. flooding the feed with every single person adding all the harry potter movies when they first join (inevitable... haha) -- we'll hopefully have a good middle ground soon!!

Unfortunately the app is region-blocked on my android phone. I'm from Poland. Will there be any fix for that?

💡 Bright idea

I have loved using Telly since its soft launch! It's a fantastic app built by a wonderful team. The user interface has a great design which gives a cozy Goodreads feel to it. I'd love the ability to leave comments and continue discussions on reviews. I feel like that could further enhance the social features on the app leading to more interactions between users. Congrats on the launch!

How how does it compare to Letterboxd / why would a Letterboxd user switch? Curious to see if there are any particular features that could bring people over. Cool app nonetheless, congrats on the launch!

@falkoj Thanks for checking us out! The main difference is that Telly supports TV shows, and not only can you add them to your watchlist / review them once you've watched them, but even as you're working your way through a show, you can log which season you're on (helpful for me since I'm always watching a handful of different shows at a time). In our view, many of the most exciting projects are happening in TV rather than film, so we couldn't leave that part out! Otherwise, we wanted to design a more delightful UX, which includes things like: 1) A more engaging feed for people to follow what their friends and the broader community is watching, 2) A sleeker and more customizable profile design that allows you to truly showcase your taste, 3) Ability to filter your watchlist by shows vs. films, as well as different genres, to make it easier to decide what to watch At the same time, we've carried over many other features that make Letterboxd great as well, like the ability to view trailers and see what platform to watch something on. So hopefully, users don't miss too much when switching over :)

Telly is our passion project, born out of a pandemic-ridden year spent watching hundreds of films/shows and falling deeper in love with this incredible art form. We dreamt up the product that both of us wanted, launched it in beta earlier this year, and built in initial feedback. Today, we’re so happy to be sharing it with you all! have loved Telly since I started using it last summer. I always wanted to track movies/shows but would have recs/lists scattered in different notes and apps. Telly makes it so much easier – it has a database of films/shows built in – and more it's a lot fun because it's social.

I am one of the very first users of telly since its inception. Telly allows me to build up my own film/TV series library and share my experience with friends. Particularly love telly's function of accessing to the brief bio of cast members.
