Eugene Calhoun
At TaskSaver we believe that education through coaches, teachers, and mentors is a commanding driving force to success and goal accomplishment. Yet, while you can learn how to operate a small business or scale a business there are very few trusted hubs for freelance education and limited formal educational channels for freelancing. Freelancers are last on the totem pole; even with the growth of freelance as a profession I found only a few credible freelance communities, many un-trusted "paid for" mentors, and a serious lack of freelance business know-how from experts with courses like "how to become a freelancer" or "earn $5,000 in 60 days freelancing". When the scams and schemes don't work today's freelancers will be flocking back to the workplace. And that is our problem. We do not want freelancers to turn away from life/work balance. --- I created TaskSaver to provide stability for freelancers and bring credibility to the freelance profession. Our goal is to become an accredited learning institution that graduates freelancers who are ready to work for medium to large businesses and maximize their earning potential. Currently, our developing curriculum which was created and drafted by myself is being peer-reviewed by experienced freelancers, board-certified educators, and school administrators. We are creating an in-person, synchronous course and curriculum for upperclassmen in high school and college that will allow them to earn while they learn and develop into freelancers. At the same time, we offer our online solution (asynchronous or synchronous) curriculum to those that are new to freelancing but are not in one of our partnered schools. We offer the same curriculum and style of learning but utilize a virtual workspace called Orbit City (created on the Workfrom platform) to connect more personally while online. There is so much more to go through, however, I would like to leave this for now and hopefully allow this to strike up a conversation that can fuel future posts and revisions. -Eugene
